“If you have only one smile in you, give it to the people you love…” – Maya Angelou
On your wedding day, your smile should say it all. From the surprise and excitement as you walk down the aisle, to photos that will last a lifetime…there is no better wedding day accessory, than your pearly white smile. Dr. Maia Berger wants to help perfect your smile by kicking bad breath, gum disease and discolor on your big day. Here are some insights from Dr. Berger:
What Are The Causes of Gingivitis?
Plaque builds up throughout the day by what you consume, whether you are eating or drinking. Plaque is the main reason for the development of gingivitis, but any of these reasons can irritate the gums and cause gingivitis (poor dental hygiene, hormonal changes, irregular professional dental cleaning, smoking, etc).
How Is Gum Disease Treated?
Once there are signs of gingivitis, our goal is to reduce the inflammation and maintain a healthy oral environment in order to reduce the pocket depths, to reduce the risk of infections, to reduce swelling, and to stop the disease progression. There most likely will be tartar or plaque deposits at the base of the teeth, which needs to be removed by a dentist or dental hygienist. After a professional teeth cleaning, healthier gums are pink, with reduced bleeding and inflammation.
Dr. Berger at Coliseum Dental also provides Invisalign Clear Braces, Teeth Whitening, Porcelain Veneers, and many other ways to improve your smile for your big day!!
