Reconstructive Dentistry

Implants

Dental implants are metal posts or frames that are surgically positioned into the jawbone beneath your gums. Once in place, they allow your dentist to mount replacement teeth onto them.

Crowns

A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or covers a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth and could also be used to improve the strength or appearance of the teeth.

Bridges

A bridge consists of 3 or more crowns connected together. It is used to replace a missing tooth by joining permanently to adjacent teeth or dental implants.

Dentures

Dentures (more commonly known as false teeth) are removable, prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth, and which are supported by surrounding soft (such as the gums) and hard tissues (teeth and bone) of the mouth. Conventional dentures are removable. There are two types of dentures, a partial (which covers several missing teeth) or a full denture (which covers all your teeth, either on the top or bottom).

Root Canal

A root canal is the space within the root of a tooth. It is a process where the infected nerves (in the space of the tooth) are removed, wherein the pulp is cleaned out, the space is disinfected and then filled to prevent any bacteria from seeping into the canal.

Tooth Extraction

A dental extraction (also referred to as exodontia) is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, including tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to prevent restoration.
